BKZ (6-array unfocused resistivity logging)

BKZ is another type of Russian electrical log and usually uses on the territory of Former Soviet Union countries.

The tool has five unfocused BKZ gradient (lateral) arrays of different length and one potential (normal) array:

A0.4M0.1N

A1.0M0.1N

A2.0M0.5N

A4.0M0.1N

A8.0M1.0N

N0.5M2.0A

Different arrays length records the formation resistivity and able to estimate the resistivity and diameter of the invaded zone, if any.

The recommendation regarding borehole fluid remains the same as for all resistivity methods.

The mud fluid has to be conductive.

Operational P-T conditions:

MAX   MAX
150; 175 °C   120; 150 MPa
