Inclinometer tool measures orientation and position of the well continuously. Based on the measured azimuth,deviation and depth in well we design:
- plan of the well, which is the projection of the axis of the well on the horizontal plane;
- well path – vertical projection of the well on the plane.
Inclinometry carries out to adjust the trajectory of the wellbore during drilling both vertical and deviated wells as well as verify compliance actual well trajectory with the designed one.
When inclinometer is used in an open wellbore, the tools above and below it must have non-magnetic housings.

In case of logging through drill pipes they have to be made from non-magnetic material. All measurements are done without corrections for magnetic declination and elevation. To take them into account the Customer should provide these data so we can make necessary corrections in calculations. As well you may check magnetic declination using our Declination Calculator. Magnetic declination calculates using the World Magnetic Model WMM2020 and reference system WGS 84. |
Tool measures azimuth with high accuracy at well deviation from 0⁰30'.
